Matum - Bael Fruit Tea

Bael fruit, sliced, dried and roasted, brewed all over Thailand as a tea. The cup is warm amber and sweet without sugar: dried apricot, baked apple, a little caramel and smoke from the roasting. No caffeine, no tea leaf: matum is a fruit infusion, like hibiscus.

An evening cup, and one children take to for its natural sweetness. Thai folk tradition brews matum for coughs and digestion; rigorous research is scarce, so to us it is simply a good cup, not medicine.
