Questions about custom blends
How much tea is in one blend?
100 g in every pack: the base plus the add-ons you chose, in the proportions the builder shows. At 3 g per cup that is around thirty cups, or a couple of dozen gongfu sessions with several steeps each.
Which bases are there, and can a blend be caffeine-free?
Five bases: black tea, green tea, oolong, sheng and shou pu-erh. All five are real tea leaf, so every custom blend has caffeine. For a caffeine-free cup take the ready floral and fruit blend, or rosella and lemongrass from the catalog.
What can I add?
Sixteen add-ons, each with its own article in our knowledge base: rose, jasmine, chrysanthemum, osmanthus, peach, lychee, coconut, orange, grape, goji, mint, jujube, rosella, lemongrass, lavender and lion's mane. Up to four per blend, each at one, two or three parts for strength.
What is the page of its own?
Every blend gets a permanent page with its name, composition and creator, and a link you can send to anyone. From that page the same blend can be ordered again, by you or by a friend. The creator gets 10 % off the first order of their blend; friends who order through the link get 5 % off.
How do I get the blend?
We mix it by hand right after the order, at the tea house on Cherng Talay Road in Phuket. Pick it up there, or have it delivered anywhere in Thailand. How ordering and delivery work is on the how to order page.
How do I brew a custom blend?
Brew by the base, the add-ons follow. Green base at 80–85 °C, oolong at 85–95 °C, black at 90–95 °C, pu-erh at 95–100 °C; 3 g per 100 ml and short steeps. Our brewing guides for oolong and pu-erh work for blends on those bases too.
